In a major push to boost digital inclusion, the Federal Government has equipped 900 young people in Enugu with vital skills in cutting-edge areas including cybersecurity, data science, digital literacy, and tech-driven entrepreneurship.
Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi, Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), revealed this while delivering an address at the ongoing Enugu Tech Festival (ETF) 2026.
Abdullahi said that the strategic skill training was part of the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He stated that the training is designed to nurture talent and build digital skills for youth empowerment.
On behalf of the Director-General, Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholder Management and Partnership, commended 50 outstanding trainees for their exceptional dedication, resilience, and excellence among the 900 participants.
“These 50 young visionaries are about to receive something far greater than digital tools: instruments of transformation.”
These tools embody opportunity, empowerment, and Nigeria’s deep confidence in our youth.
Above all, they stand for responsibility: the duty to build meaningful solutions, create real value, and uplift entire communities.
“Enugu’s new energy isn’t coal it’s code. Not extraction, but innovation. Not limits, but limitless possibility. And this is just the beginning.”
