Oha soup; a Nigerian Traditional Dish 

Oha soup is an Igbo traditional delicacy that is majorly found in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

The name “Oha” is gotten from the type of tree where the leaves used in preparing this soup is found in the Southern part of Nigeria. The plant is botanically known as Pterocarpus mildraedii which contains many nutrients such as fibre, amino acids, calcium, iron, potassium and vitamin A. It is one delicious soup that is easy to make and you can guarantee that it still comes out well cooked and delicious no matter the method used in preparing this meal but the the main leaves should not be exempted.

Oha soup is often prepared using cocoa-yam, egusi or ofor as the thickener, stock fish, goat meat,palm oil, oha leaves,pepper and salt to taste. With all these ingredients mentioned you can tell oha soup is one rich traditional soup packed with a lot of health benefits and you don’t want to miss out on.
